How to Use Trebly with Google Classroom

Assign free note-reading games and lessons in Google Classroom, give a class test, and collect every student's result as a private comment. There's no add-on to install and nothing for students to sign up for.

Trebly works with Google Classroom through ordinary links. You share an activity the way you’d share any website, and students open it on their Chromebook or tablet, with no sign-in. For a check on what they’ve learned, a class test sends each student’s score back to you as a private comment.

What you can do

  • Assign any activity: a lesson, note-reading practice, Arcade, Songs, a rhythm game or the printable note value chart.
  • Give a class test that every student takes once, with their own ID, and hands in.
  • Check any result that looks wrong, with the check link at the end of it.

Assign an activity

  1. Go to For teachers and find the activity you want.
  2. Select Share to Classroom. Google Classroom’s share window opens in a new tab.
  3. Choose your class, then whether to post it as an assignment, an announcement or a material, and add any instructions.
  4. Post it. Students select the link in Classroom, and the activity opens in their browser.

Using Canvas, Schoology or Teams instead? Select Copy link on the same card and paste the link into your post.

Give a class test and collect the results

A class test is the Trebly Note Reading Test: 20 notes, no hints, about two minutes. You choose the speed and the clef. Each student takes it once and copies their result back to you. More about class tests →

1. Create the test. Choose a speed and a clef, then select Create test link:

Speed
Clef

Steady gives about four seconds a note, Brisk about three, Fast under two.

2. Post it as an assignment. Select Share to Classroom and post it as an assignment, so each student gets their own private comments and a Turn in button. Add instructions that tell students which ID to use. You can copy these:

Open the link and type your class number as your student ID. Take the test. When you finish, select Copy result, paste it as a private comment on this assignment, then select Turn in.

Use whatever ID suits your class: a class number, initials or a nickname. Trebly never sees it; it only goes into the result the student sends you.

3. Read the results. Open the assignment’s Student work page. Each student’s private comment shows their result:

Trebly class test SURE: Steady, treble clef
Student: 12
95% (19 of 20 correct)
Missed: D
Oct 7, 2026, 3:52 PM
Check: https://trebly.fun/check/#…

4. Check anything that looks wrong. Every result ends with a check link. Select it, and the check page shows what the test actually recorded: the score, the student’s ID, the test code and the time. If the link itself was edited, the page says so.

5. Grade it, if you want to. The percentage is ready to type in as a grade out of 100. Trebly can’t put grades into Classroom by itself.

Good to know

  • Nothing to install. There’s no Classroom add-on and no extension. The links work for any school, on any Google Workspace for Education plan.
  • No student accounts. Students need their school Google account to open Classroom, as usual, but Trebly itself asks for nothing.
  • One go per device. Opening the test link again on the same device shows the same result instead of a new test. A student could still retake it in a private window or on another device, but you’d see a second result with a later time.
  • The check spots edits; it isn’t proof. It can’t tell who sat at the keyboard, and a student who reads the site’s code could forge a result. For anything that counts, have students take the test in class.

Questions teachers ask

Is there a Trebly add-on for Google Classroom?

No. Trebly works with plain links, so there’s nothing for you or your school’s IT team to install or approve.

Can Trebly send grades to Classroom automatically?

Not at the moment. Results come back as private comments, and you type in a grade if you want one. Sending grades automatically would need student sign-ins, and Trebly is built to need none.

Can I use the same test link with more than one class?

Yes. Every result carries the test’s code, so you can see which test it came from. If you’d rather tell classes apart, create a separate test for each class.

What if a student doesn’t see the Copy result button work?

Some browsers block copying. The student can select the result text with their finger or mouse and copy it, or take a screenshot of the result screen.
